WASTE MANAGEMENT

Al-Gharraf Oil Services (AGOS) implements a comprehensive Waste Management Plan designed to minimize environmental impact, ensure regulatory compliance, and support safe, efficient operations across all project sites. Our approach is built on reduction, reuse, recycling, and responsible disposal — aligned with international best practices and Iraq's environmental requirements.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

Waste Types We Manage

  • Bio waste (biofouling, damaged stock)
  • General waste (rocks, old materials, stones)
  • Obsolete or worn infrastructure
  • Hazardous and contaminated waste
  • Sanitary, grey, and black water

Waste Hierarchy: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

  • Materials suitable for re-use are cleaned, labelled, and stored
  • Materials that cannot be reused are repurposed or sent for recycling
  • Residual waste catalogued, assessed quarterly, and stored safely
  • Only materials that cannot be reused or recycled sent to approved landfill

Waste Collection & Disposal

  • Secure, lidded waste bins to prevent spills, pests, and odours
  • Daily removal of waste from operational premises
  • Segregation of recyclable, hazardous, and general waste
  • Approved disposal routes for hazardous materials
  • Strict adherence to UNAMI, EPA, and Workcover requirements

Construction & Demolition Waste

  • Reuse of excavated materials
  • On-site mulching of green waste
  • Reuse or recycling of bricks, tiles, concrete, and timber
